Inventory Management System (IMS) is a feature rich ERP application developed using highcharts that facilitates process automation and provides an easy and efficient way to track the current status of the inventory items including assets.

The biggest challenge was to identify the high-risk modules, high-security functionalities, the most visible functionality in the application and to collect developers’ views pertaining to the high-risk aspects of the application. The client was provided utmost ERP quality assurance to ensure the best in class performance of the product.

Product Description

IMS or Inventory Management System is an interactive ERP application that has been exclusively developed for the organizations to keep track of their stock and assets assigned to their employees to use. The products and asset management application allows organizations to record the details of all products (stock) and assets into the system and enable administering each activity such as stock purchases, vendor management, stock transfer (assignment or repair), re-order level and ordered quantity from within a single platform effortlessly.

Various inventory items can be classified into miscellaneous categories and stored in the application databases for quick and easy access. The application supports four user roles namely Super Admin, Admin, Supervisor, and User (employee) and allows application features access based on the mentioned roles. Super Admin being the most empowered user has the access to all the features and permissions to create and manage all other user roles.

An interactive dashboard and various modules in this desktop application enable users to perform various IMS functionalities efficiently.

Primary Features

Profile Management : IMS allows multiple users to access and use the application with specifically assigned permissions based on their user roles. The application supports Super Admin, Admin, Supervisor, and User to access the application functionalities and features. A Super Admin has all the rights to access and operate on all functionalities of IMS including other user creation, management, and role assignment.
Dashboard : The application provides all-encompassing information on the most user-friendly dashboard including the stock status, recent user activities and their login status to showcase the overview of the products and assets stock in the organization. Graphical representation of the stock status makes it more interactive and easy to understand.
Product Categorization and Management : All products and assets can be classified into relevant categories and their details can be listed in the application centrally for quick and easy access by all application users.
Manufacturers Management : Details of all product manufacturers can be recorded and readily managed. Users can add and also edit the manufacturer information as per the authorization access to this module.
Vendors Management : All vendors supplying stock to the organization can be listed in this module along with all product offered by them including their contact information and other details. The vendor information can also be well managed in this module by authorized users.
Stock Management : Extensive stock management is facilitated by this feature rich application. The stock gets auto-updated as a product is assigned or discarded. The re-order level can be defined so as to place the product order well-in-time. The users are alerted as the stock reaches the minimum quantity thereby notifying users to reorder the product. The total number of products discarded, assigned, sent for repair and on-hand can be seamlessly tracked using this module in the application with just a few clicks.
Email Alerts : Email integration has been enabled within the application thereby allowing the notifications to be sent to the authorized users about the product status and any other change related to the stored information that takes place in the system instantly.
Logs : The system captures each minute activity of the users and the product transfer or movement and creates a log history containing each activity thread. Users with relevant access to the log can access the logs and can monitor the monitor these activities to take the informed decisions.
